Baby Shirts is a term that often referes to
baby bodysuits, since they are shirts that are made specifically for baby with the wrap under snaps to help secure a diaper. For our purposes, though, we'll stick with
baby shirts that are actually made in the same shape as an adult shape.
Baby shirts are available in just as many styles, colors, patterns, and decorations as their adult counterparts, so it's really going to be all about your taste and style. As with so much other baby clothing, though, light pinks and light blues are going to be predominant among almost all of the designs.
Another shirt frequently referred to as a baby shirt would be a side-snap shirt.
Side-snap shirts, both short and long sleeved, are most often referred to as "
hospital shirts" or hospital baby shirts. The side-snaps are great for using when baby is newborn and the belly button may still be a little bit tender. Side-snaps provide for a way to securely fasten the shirt on and cover that tender area for the first couple of months. Because of their primary importance being for newborns, these types of "hospital shirts" are usually only available in 0-3 and 3-6 month sizes.
Seasonal baby shirts include both
sleeveless baby shirts and
long-sleeved baby shirts in addition to the standard short-sleeved baby shirts.
Some coordinating sets of
sleeveless shirts with pants or
long-sleeve shirts with pants are also available in sleeveless or long-sleeved!
